Covenant for Parking:
The student free-parking program of the Appalachian Wesley Foundation has a twofold purpose: (1) to provide for the efficient operation and regular maintenance of the building, and (2) to allow residents to grow and mature in their faith through leadership opportunities as they minister to the university community.
The students of the free-parking program of the Appalachian Wesley Foundation have the great responsibility of being stewards of our facility and ambassadors of the ministry. Therefore, given that the Appalachian Wesley Foundation free-parking program students are integral to the daily operation of our campus ministry building, they shall be expected to work closely with the campus ministry staff and the board of directors.
The free-parking program students will be expected to fulfill their ministry and maintenance duties from January 1, 2024 through May 11, 2024.
Students Must:
1. Be living examples of Christian love.
2. Be responsible stewards of our facility and ambassadors of the ministry.
3. Perform the following once a week which shall include, but not limited to the following:
a. Removing trash
b. Sweeping porches and sidewalks
c. Maintaining grounds
4. Prior to every event the building should be inspected for cleanliness.
5. Unlock and lock the building daily at the times set forth: between 8:00 to 9:00 am and 11:00 pm
6. Keep a clean and safe walkway on the front and back patios and walkways
7. Weed exterior flower beds around the building; groom all shrubbery and attend to the flowers and other plants.
8. Daily checking the bathrooms for supplies and necessary cleaning.
9. Nightly closing of the entire building and ensuring that everything is clean, especially the bathrooms and community areas, and properly set up for the following day.
Prior To Applying, Understand:
1. Be a Christian role model for others.
2. Must be an active participant of the Appalachian Wesley Foundation and have a genuine commitment to the campus ministry.
3. Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Must have a proven track record of dependability and responsibility related to prior experiences and activities.
5. Must show potential ability to fulfill all responsibilities and expectations.
6. Must demonstrate care and thought given to this application and selection process.
7. Residents are selected on the basis of casting of lots. Applicant names will be placed in a digital drawing, and the top four will be selected.
Nightly Lock-up Checklist:
Check off EVERY room for the following before you lock the building for the night:
• All trash and misc. items have been cleared from all tables, countertops, sitting areas, and floors. (place personal items in lost and found)
• Every room is straightened up and ready for use the next day.
• Remove any trash and change out trash bags if more than half full.
• All folding tables, folding chairs, chalk boards, and other set out items are returned to their storage areas.
• Absolutely no food, used cups/mugs, or perishable items should be in any room besides the kitchen.
• Ensure all windows in every room are shut and locked.
• Generally inspect the inside and outside of the building for cleanliness and pick up as needed (i.e. cans/bottles/trash outside)

Covenant:
I have read and understand fully the responsibilities and expectations of being in the student free-parking program, which are subject to change under the supervision of the Wesley Foundation’s board of directors. I acknowledge that I will complete all the required responsibilities, live up to the listed expectations, and honor this covenant fully. I also understand that if I neglect or violate the listed responsibilities and expectations that I am subject to the accountability described in the covenant which may result in discontinuance of this student free-parking program agreement and forfeiture of the privilege to park at the Wesley Foundation.
